  1. These 405 interiors can test your patience ? It’s almost all back together except front door panels where I ran out of spares. Headlight switch and other bits coming from Germany ?? Picture late Saturday afternoon ?
  2. I’m in need of 405 headlight and window switches, location Sacramento California. Thank you.
  3. End up getting this from my friend Nikola, it’s 98 C43 AMG with 5.4 L swap. It comes with ton of paper work including swap and transmission rebuilt. Currently it has 120.000 miles.
  4. Here are few pictures before I started to clean it up, if you look closely you can see thick layer of light gray field dust. Somehow this dust found it’s way all the way inside of body panels past all interior trim parts.
  5. Well...I can’t believe it has been a year already! Right... I got tired of kicking around this headliner so this last weekend I installed it back in to car and washed all that New Mexico dust from inside of the car. Last year I washed carpet and all plastic interior parts and installed it all back together on Saturday, once it’s all completed I’ll post few pictures. I still need to order speakers and radio. I only got these two pictures of last weekend and hopefully I should have better ones this weekend.
  6. Update on this, I had to use my front pulley as offset wasn't same and further research found that Sanden 8025 is equipped with correct pulley. I vacuumed entire system for three hours before filling it back up and needle stayed in same place for 6 hours. At that point I filled it back up with R134a. I’m using it for two weeks now and it’s working great.
  7. Power of google did it again! I’ll admit it took me a bit of time to find what can fit and here it is. I always new there is something out there that is straight replacement and they definitely did not made that many different types of compressors back in the day. Luckily for me I found open box on Ebay for $80 and regular prices are around $220 and this is also Sanden unit. I should probably add that on these Sanden units back head and front pulley’s are interchangeable. I also got new drive belt and ideler pulleys. Since this car is equipped with XU10J4RS engine compressor pulley is for six rib belt so I’ll only need to swap over back head and electrical connector. You folks are very welcome ?
  8. How did you get a hold of VR4? Any pictures?
  9. Most likely not, as much as I drive it and how carful I am I doubt I’ll have any issues. My wagon was like this for 40.000 miles with out issues, I did rase it up quite a bit as It’s DD and still don’t have any issues going over speed bumps.
  10. Thank you fellas for kind words, I truly do take care of these cars and keep them extremely clean at all times.
  11. I’d say 2.7l V6 Audi TT would be nice in that Niva :-) or 2JZ or 4g63 :-)
  12. This GTI6 oil pan is little lower but nothing I can’t deal with ?
  13. Thank you sir, I should add that I replaced all four tires and alignment lasted Saturday. Still driving it every day about 300 miles a week.
  14. I just realized today that with this set up alternator/A/C pump belt is too long, I end up measuring with old belt and came up with 5PK1210 and original is 5PK1235. I found Bando 5PK1210 on Ebay and I end up purchasing two of them just in case to have one extra spare, hopefully it’s here by Wednesday. Probably should add that it was running today for 30 minutes and all looked good, no leaks of any kined ?
  15. I use Mobil 1 or Valvoline Synthetic, both 10w30
  16. Welcome ? I’m glad to see that you are giving it second chance.
  17. This is what happens to E85 when engine is not running for some time, it jells up. I got it all cleaned up and for now I’ll keep running 91, later on I may try to run 100 ovtane or E85 on better injectors such as FIC injectors .
  18. Finally it’s finished! I end up cutting end of windage tray so oil pump chain can be installed on the sprocket with out removing front cover. A/C accumulator end up relocating to oil pan (same as on my GTI6 swapped wagon) and oil capacity with new filter is 7.5 quart’s. On GTI6 oil pan oil temp sensor is on opposite side so I had to extend the wire. I also end up using shorter bolts which is 35mm long vs original 40mm long, new oil pan sealing surface is not as thick as original so shorter bolts are needed.
  19. Unfortunately I never had a chance to modify GTI6 front brakes to make them fit and front brakes could not take no more abuse so I just ordered factory replacement trough Rock Auto. Rotors were only $12 each and pads were $14, I also end up getting new slide pin boots, slide pin bolts and little screws that hold rotors in place.
  20. When I pick this car up it had about 137.000 miles and now it’s at 200.000 miles, just little over 50.000 miles on this GTI6 engine since it was imported. It’s still my daily driver and most of the time it’s used as a truck ?
  21. A lot of work around the house lately but somehow I found some time to work on this car again.
  22. Lately it’s been really difficult to find spare time to work on my cars but finally I started to work on this oil sump set up from Peter Taylor from Australia. I should have it all removed and cleaned by Wednesday night. I do have all gaskets, sealant, brake clean, engine oil and filter. http://www.taylor-eng.com/
  23. Finally I found some time to get rear brakes rebuild and installed. New wheel bearings, new grease cap, new bolts and bleeders. Brake rotors and wheel spacers are ceramic coated.
  24. This is original pump about 196.000 miles and no knocking on it would get it going, brushes were simply not making contact any longer and in the picture you can see why.
