  1. My second 505 (hence Deuce) cracked one driving light. As I went to replace the one I noted that the other had to be replaced as well otherwise it wouldn't look perfect. Pride is a terrible thing to waste.
  2. When I drove it I don't recall much of a difference between my cars and his (hereinafter referred to as yours) regarding the clutch pedal anyway. Just mild curiosity as that would suggest that the sensation (or wear) accelerated at some point. Which would mean I might have to do this to Red someday even though it now feels fine.
  3. Very clever. That was August's car? How many miles are on it now?
  4. Thanks, good advice I'm sure. However as Ron Davies has already built one for the 505 and it was reviewed as good on these pages, I'll probably go with that unless I hear an objection. Personally I rather have an OEM but that doesn't seem to be available anymore. Thanks again
  5. We have covered a few different fabricators. I want to use someone who has already built one for somebody so that there will be less (hopefully) fitting issues. That being said I have not found Peugeot listed on a drop-down menu yet.
  6. That the plastic crimped on sides will fail again is a given. But if it lasts another 24 years like the last one, I don't think I'll be driving cars anyway by then. All moot as it appears the Valeo is now NLA. I wonder where I got the metal radiator that's in Red. Was that a GL thing?
  7. Well, that may be the way to go (or maybe the only way) especially since Griffin already has the dimensions. The Ron Davis Radiator link doesn't work and Hemisphere says it's out of stock, Holms says he doesn't have any and Bryan Cohn sold his last, so...........
  8. At first I though "ya but used is what I already have and it's failed." But then I realized that even if I did get a "new one" it probably is just as old" So, Western Hemisphere wanted $600 for theirs, I really need to find out what a custom one would be. Probably a better deal in the long run and as I rarely sell anything........... I see a thread now that someone had one made up but (I don't understand what the "cutting" of the fan hub is all about) didn't mention how much or where it came from.
  9. The plastic radiator in Deuce has gone NFG (Red has a metal radiator). Western Hemisphere went NLA just last Thursday and Holms hasn't replied as of yet but I kinda doubt he has one. However if anybody has had an alloy one made up I'd be interested in the price and location. What say you 'O addicts of the N9TE?
  10. Well, I never got any notification of this thread so now 2 months later (Deuce has 101,000 miles now) the '89 tail lights are a regular printed circuit board (as opposed to the card board used in the earlier one) and are more reliable. The original hole the wiring comes through was round but when cut out of the newer tail lights all you got to do is change the connector. Voila. They look better. too I think. Red's air dam? As red was converted into a V6 for the commercial (including a pin stripped sun roof) I had to buy a Turbo front valance and never got around to painting it (as you can see in this photo).
  11. Do it !! Red needs somebody to play with. I'da bought those lights ya know!
  12. I seem to remember the replacement dip sticks were "cut to fit" from Peugeot. Handy to have the dimensions now, eh?
  13. As usual, I personally represented 100% of the Peugeots in attendance showing Red & Deuce. Oh ya, there was a 1936 (302?). We were parked all by ourselves next to the parking lot. I doubt I'll bother anymore.
  14. Here's as good an excuses as any to come to Southern California. I'll be bringing Red & Deuce.

but there again I haven't been here for awhile. Sorry about that. However, check this out:
  16. I believe it starts December 28th. And if I had my way, no 505 Turbo would ever be a $500 car again.
  17. check this out http://teamlemon.blogspot.com/ Sad to see he used up a pretty good car but oh well. He said it had 97,000 miles on it.
  18. It was the ball & socket end anyway. The clip would work on either end, I believe. New one is on the way from W-H and my guy who used to work as the parts guy at PMA Carson, Calif. I'm not sure where he is getting parts from..........maybe W-H? Anyway I'll have 2.
  19. Bad day for Deuce. Started the day with a dead battery only to have the shift linkage fall apart later. The long shaft was just dried up. Ever try to wire that thing back together? Use this, it works quick and easy while only if temporary and available at any stationary store by the dozen.
  20. I remember seeing one of those kits in a box at PMA in Carson, California but I never saw one on a car. Let me know if you find another. Looks good, huh?
  21. I'd buy this car just for the fenders http://cgi.ebay.com/4x4-Dangel-break-505_W...1QQcmdZViewItem Unbreakable fenders flares that would accomidate those 7.5 x 15 wheels we've seen !!!
  22. I'm not so brand loyal these days as when Motul was a sponsor of mine but 10w30 is the soup d'jour. Did the Supra's have water cooled centre housings?
  23. It's been my experience that the valve guide seals die by time alone. The mileage doesn't make a differance. There are better seals to use, BMW as I recall. This is assuming that the leakdown test are good.
  24. Just to stir things up a bit, let it be known here and now that Red had 7.5 w 15 Motul oil in it at both SCCA National Championship races it ran in. We never ran that during the year but the two times we did the turbo response from the light weight oil was very noticable.
