85 505 Turbo - Under Hood

PeugeotPilot

Notice anything strange? I was quite surprised to find an intercooler on an '85 model, but there it is, plain as day. This car was acquired along with an 87 Turbo parts car, which was missing the engine and transmission as well as the left rear fender. The evidence suggests that they wound up in this car, along with the left rear fender and door. Why the previous owner chose to repair the 85 with parts from the 87 (which was not only newer but looked better to boot) I can't say. Perhaps he preferred the Series I interior. Pure speculation on my part, but looking at the odometer on the parts car reveals that this engine and trans have just 109 000 km (68 000 miles) on them, so they should last a while if I look after them.
